Portal to change – I turn worriers into warriors
Do you feel overwhelmed by what seems like chaos around you and inside you? Do you wish you could just enjoy the present moment without it being tainted by negative experiences from the past, or lost amidst worries about the future? Do you wish you could approach life more positively and grant yourself some of the kindness and understanding you so willingly afford to others? Do you wish you could just get out of your own way and do the things that scare you – with confidence – so that you could achieve your goals and live your dreams?
If you’ve had enough of being a worrier, I can help you forge a portal to change so that you can step through and become the warrior you were meant to be.
My unique perspective on fear, worry and adversity
Most people who meet me assume that having a disability – severe visual impairment – must be the biggest lifelong struggle I have had to face. The truth is that worry, not my disability, was the biggest, baddest, nastiest thing that tormented me from as early as I can remember – until I finally learned to manage and overcome it.
My disability continuously creates obstacles to be overcome, but I have never let it stop me from chasing my dreams and doing the things I love. Worry was a different story though… it slowly took over my life, morphing into fear and then into an anxiety disorder and panic attacks. Worry, in it’s most extreme form, was the thing that eventually ended up stopping me in my tracks. After incessantly searching for answers, seeing a great therapist and applying every coping skill I had learned over the years, terror subsided back into fear and then back into worry. It wasn’t until I worked with an amazing life coach though, that all the puzzle pieces finally fitted together and I learned that everything I needed to overcome fear, worry and adversity was inside me all along.
Throughout my life I have felt called to use my experiences, love of learning and empathy to make a difference in some way. I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer as a therapeutic horse riding instructor, a cub scout leader and a depression and anxiety support group facilitator over the years. When I discovered the difference I could make as a life coach though – I knew without a doubt that that was the career path I wanted to take. By the grace of God I now walk alongside worriers and empower them so that they can discover their own inner warrior.
So what exactly can I help you with?
Worry is like the tip of an iceberg with so many issues underlying it:
- Feeling overwhelmed
- Struggling to make decisions
- Lack of boundaries (within ourselves and when interacting with others)
- Being unkind to ourselves
- Feeling insecure
- Fear of failure
- Not feeling motivated
- Not being present in the now
- Lack of self-confidence
- Struggling with time-management
- Outside influences that seem beyond our control
- Lack of direction and purpose
- Feeling unbalanced
- Trouble prioritising
- Tolerating things that bother us
- And so many more…
I can help you deal with these issues so that you can live a happier, calmer and more fulfilling life.
How can you find out if I’m the right coach for you?
- You are welcome to ask me any and all questions you might have via e-mail before setting up a session with me. I understand that as a worrier, you may need a great deal of certainty before stepping into something new. I am available to coach outside business hours and on weekends if this better suits your needs.
- I offer a FREE initial session which will allow us to have a chat and get to know each other a little better. I will also aim to gain an understanding of your expectations, clarify my role and answer any and all questions you might have.
- The first coaching session is also FREE so that you can get an idea of what to expect, what my coaching style is and if you would like to continue on with me as your coach. There is no obligation to continue after either of these free sessions.
I would love to get to know you and discuss how I can best help you forge your own unique portal to change and then support you in stepping through it.
